This painting and drawing course covers fundamental skills to allow you the freedom to develop your own artwork making process, suitable for both beginners and more experienced students. In this 3 week course we will focus on developing drawing skills as well as painting, colour mixing and finding your own style, in an inspiring studio environment to foster and share creative ideas. Each week will focus on different themes and techniques, using a variety of mediums for the ultimate creative experience. All your art materials for this course are provided, including canvases. paint, ink, drawing materials and artists paper. Emotional Mark Making Lesson 1 - Expressive painting with gestural brushstrokes. Ink and drawing materials on large papers. Inspired by portraits and figures. 2. Abstract expression Experiment with abstract painting with acrylic and mixed media on canvas. Develop ideas into gesture and marks, colour and tone and create atmospheric paintings. 3. Expressive Charcoal drawing - birds and flight Learn to use charcoal expressly - can add graphite or inl wash. Birds in flight, capture energy and movement with gestural marks.
